TOWN
LIFE
After a life
of servitude on the island followed by the alien abduction, nerves were strung
tight. They squatted in an abandoned building, found enough casual work to buy
food, but the hazards of town life were only negotiated after endless
discussion.
The children
and older girls were closely watched, but the teenage boys refused to obey the elders. They
ventured further and further afield exploring, bringing home tales of daring
along with stolen fruit, while the girls could only hang out of the windows,
watching life pass by.
Then the
most beautiful boy Shoda had ever seen waved to her.

This really must be the final episode in my mini-series - it was never intended to become one in the first place! Thanks to Alicia Jamtaas for the photo prompt, and to Rochelle for being our host. I am very close to publishing my next novel, ACCIDENTAL ADOPTION, which will be available on Amazon. If you would like to be on my mailing list, please let me know!
Love it Liz!
ReplyDeleteUh oh!
ReplyDeleteYoung love will triumph!
DeleteAaahhhh...young love <3
ReplyDeleteLet's hope so, she deserves a change of fortune!
DeleteAll's well that ends well
ReplyDeleteBack to real life, they hope.
DeleteThe servitude I can manage, maybe an abduction or two. But when aliens get involved, it's time to get my towel and hitchhike a ride to another planet. Fun story, Liz.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill, don't hitch a ride with any green faced drivers!
Deletei guess boys will be boys and girls will be girls. :)
ReplyDeleteAñd they will always find a way to meet.
DeleteI think Shoda is about to widen her horizons.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right.
DeleteAt first I thought 'aww' but now I'm thinking somehing aww-ful might be about to happen!
ReplyDeleteI hope 'aww' is appropriate for what happens next!
DeleteA fitting conclusion.
ReplyDeleteThanks Iain.
DeleteDear Liz,
ReplyDeleteGood for those teenage boys.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Good for them indeed - the world would stagnate if nobody broke the rules.
DeleteI feel sorry for the girls. At least the boys brought things home.
ReplyDeleteThe girls will break free soon, starting with Shona.
DeleteOoh, Shoda. I see a beautiful beginning... 🙂
