SHARK
“That shark’s head gives me the shivers,” Kirsten
said, “Let’s go somewhere else.”
“We only want a quick snack,” Rick said, “You can sit
with your back to it.”
He was lifting a toasted sandwich to his mouth when
his hand froze and he turned a sickly shade of grey.
“What’s wrong?” Kirsten asked, but he could
only point. She turned round to see the glass wall bulging, and powering
towards them at full speed was an enormous shark.
There was no time even to scream.
Thanks to Rochelle for hosting Friday Fictioneers each week on her blog https://rochellewisoff.com/ and to Dale Rogerson for the photo that prompted this week's stream of consciousness! I am late on parade this week because last night I had the privilege of my granddaughter staying for a sleepover. She is four and a half - need I say more? <3

DeleteEek! Nice one, Lizy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan x
DeleteOh my! That definitely puts a downer on their lunch!
ReplyDeleteTheir toasties might get a little damp :(
DeleteNow that's something you don't see every day
ReplyDeleteIt's just occurred to me that if I opened a cafe with such nightmare scenes showing on the wall in video, I'd probably make a fortune!
DeleteAwww...she should have listened to her instincts!
ReplyDeleteShe should, and do should he!
DeleteDear Liz,
ReplyDeleteThat is not something you want to see while eating a sandwich. Or any other time for that matter.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Apparently Great Whites are all over the place now, had you heard?
DeleteCrikey - well at least the shark had a good lunch!
ReplyDeleteIncluding the toasties.
Deletedarn, they even didn't have time to finish their lunch. :(
ReplyDeleteLet's look on the bright side - toasted cheese is full of fat!
DeleteI was eating a sandwich as I read this - I nearly choked!
ReplyDeleteMy story is about Masie!
*pats Keith on back*
DeleteYihikes. This could go into a horror fantasy or funny, either way, great story.
ReplyDeleteFunny? Your sense of humour must be weird!
DeleteThat restaurant has way more to it than appears!!
ReplyDeleteYep. Everything except customers!
DeleteGreat photos, btw, it's promoted some good stories.
It did at that!
DeleteI was quite pleased...
Sounds like they accidentally entered a wormhole, no I mean sharkhole. Oops! Hope they survive.
ReplyDeleteI guess they might if they're good swimmers¡
DeleteI'm sure seeing that would make anyone lose his appetite :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right there, Linda!
DeleteStuff of nightmares!
ReplyDeleteStephen King would be proud.
Thank you, Dawn!
DeleteAlso the shark needs his snack... to bad the guests are on the menu
ReplyDeleteThey times their visit badly.
DeleteWow. That was fast. Maybe the shark will go after the backpack and they'll get away. That was great action, Liz, and the dialogue fit perfectly. It was like a terrible nightmare. Well done. ---- Suzanne
ReplyDeleteThank you Suzanne, I almost missed you! Guess you were scrolling through the site late in the week!
