Hello Baby! - Friday Fiction

"HELLO GRANNIE!"

I screamed, Oh gods!
My kids are used to my habit of crying at every turn - but when something this enormous happens words simply fail me.
I made a cup of tea and lit every candle in the house, plus some incense sticks, and then went for a walk by the river - the energy was too much to contain.
My little girl is pregnant! My daughter's baby who she will share with her mother as only girls do.
My tears are carried away by the river  and I stop crying at last. I'll weep again when it's born!

  5. Great news that surely bring tears to the eyes! I liked how she lit the house but still left as she couldn't contain her energy. One little typo in "daughter".

    Greetings from Greece to Spain!

    1. Some things are too big to contain in a still body and a wlk is the only release.

  6. Dear Liz,

I'm wondering, too, if there's any personal truth to this story. How well I can relate Four years ago I got the news that I was finally going to be a grandmother. I screamed. I cried. I danced. I sang.

Good story. BTW you reversed the a and u in daughter. ;)

    Shalom,

  9. There is definitely a much deeper connection for a daughter and her mother. I've got 2 sons - I probably will never feel that way.
